I am an Eventing Horse Trainer and have been using Costin Horseshoes over several months.
They were recommended to me by my local vet.
I have found the Costin Horseshoes amazing.
The shoes have actually brought one horse out of lameness.
When I ride Caesar he is much lighter and freer in his paces. And when I’ve been jumping him on grass the shoes have amazing grip. It’s like having a tyre tread on him. I don’t have to work half as much setting him around corners.
I notice after the Costin Horseshoes were fitted that the horse’s gate showed significant improvement.
I am currently training 15 horses in eventing.
I’ve got another horses, Saffron, that had not been shod in 8 years. He’s got hard black feet but becomes very tender on stones. But with the Costin Horseshoes he no hobbles, his improvement has been tremendous. He did step very short but he no longer does that in dressage. He now tracks up from behind.
I use the horse for a lot of show jumping and it is important for a horseshoe to have good grip. The Costin Horseshoe has the best grip of any shoe I have used. I feel much safer with them on my horse. They are a lot better than steel shoes. The Costin Horseshoe is also lighter and more flexible than steel shoes.
Steel shoes don’t move but the Costin Horseshoe is moulded to the horse’s hoof. There is not as much jarring for the horse when wearing the Costin Horseshoe.
I’m also surprised at how quickly a horse can be shod using the Costin Horseshoe. You just clip them on and nail them in. They are very cost effective.
I love them!

ROY FRANKLIN OF KEMPSEY NSW, RACEHORSE TRAINER
I am a registered thoroughbred racehorse trainer in New South Wales. I have trained trotting horses for 20 years and trained gallopers for the last 10 years in Queensland and New South Wales.
I wanted to try the Costin Horseshoe on a three year old unraced gelding of mine, Rapid Frost. While in training the horse kept going sore in its front legs.
Almost instantly the horse improved wearing the Costin Horseshoe. He was no longer sore.
I ran him on grass and sand and found the shoes have plenty of grip.
After 6 weeks I put the horse out for a spell but there was hardly any wear on the shoes.
The other advantage of the shoe is that they are easy to fit. You don’t need an anvil. Just fit them to the hoof and nail them on and file to foot. They don’t bend out of shape. Whilst I have been shoeing horses for years I am not a farrier but I had no problem fitting these shoes.
I have a number of horses in work. When the Costin Horseshoes come on to the market I have no hesitation in saying I will be training all my horses with the Costin Horseshoe and won’t be going back to steels or aluminium plates.
I think these shoes will be great for young horses and could help them not going shin sore. I will be very interested in trying them on some of my youngsters.

I have been a horse trainer for over 30 years.
I have found the Costin Horseshoe to be very good for any horse with any jarring or joint or tendon problems.
The shoes sit well and wear well.
I have previously tried other plastic shoes but they weren’t much good on wet grass. The horses skated on them. The Costin Horseshoes have much better grip.
I am currently training a horse Sacromonte and I recently arranged for it to be shod with the Costin Hroseshoes. It was jarring up. After being shod with the Costin Horseshoes there has been a noticeable difference in him. He is tracking beautifully. He won his last jump-out easily and shows no sign of any jarring.
I have found the Costin Horseshoes just as durable as steel shoes.
I definitely recommend the Costin Horseshoe for any horse with any jarring issues or horses that are not sound.
I also think the Costin Horseshoe is good for any horse as they would stop problems occurring.
"I have no hesitation in recommending the Costin Horseshoe."

I have been breaking horses professionally for twenty years and have started broken in over 2000 horses in Australia and abroad in that time. I have more recently been working with a master farrier improving my skills in shoeing horses, which is the trade that goes hand in hand with educating and training young horses.
I was introduced to Steve Costin’s horseshoes some months ago.
One of the main benefits of Steve Costins shoes is that they are easy and convenient to use. As I deal mostly with young horses it is great to have shoes that are quick and easy to just clip on and nail in. As they are made from polyurethane you no longer have to use an anvil which cuts down the noise levels enormously. This makes for a more comfortable experience, especially for young horses which can get upset from the noise of having steel shoes nailed in. Not having to use an anvil not only saves on time but stops the need to constantly be lifting the horses leg up and down. It takes me about half the time to shoe a horse with Steve Costins shoes as opposed to using steel shoes.
I highly recommend the Costin Horseshoe. I think it is going to change shoeing horses worldwide.
